Naropa University Art Gallery
Boulder · Boulder, Colorado
The Naropa University Art Gallery is the exhibition space of Naropa University — the contemplative arts university founded by Tibetan meditation master Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1974 — presenting work at the intersection of spiritual practice and contemporary visual art. Naropa's extraordinary lineage, connecting Beat poetics, Buddhist philosophy, and American experimental arts, gives the gallery a unique conceptual frame. Artists shown here engage with questions of perception, presence, and creativity that go beyond the concerns of most contemporary galleries, and the Naropa community — students, faculty, and visiting artists — brings unusual intentionality to every exhibition and event.
