Artpace San Antonio
Downtown · San Antonio, Texas
Artpace San Antonio is an internationally recognized contemporary art foundation commissioning new work by Texas, national, and international artists through a unique residency-to-exhibition program that has made it one of the most respected and generously supported artist residency programs in the world. Three artists - one from Texas, one from the United States, and one from anywhere in the world - are brought to San Antonio each cycle to create new work in response to the city and to each other, with the resulting works presented in Artpace's downtown galleries. The program's international scope and its commitment to commissioning rather than simply presenting work have made Artpace one of the most important sites for the production of contemporary art in the American Southwest.
