Fred Harman Art Museum
Pagosa Springs · Pagosa Springs, Colorado
The Fred Harman Art Museum preserves the home and working studio of Fred Harman — creator of the beloved Red Ryder comic strip and co-founder of the Cowboy Artists of America — in the authentic space where Harman created his most beloved work. The museum's collection includes more than 50 original paintings, comic strip originals, movie memorabilia, and Western artifacts that document both Harman's career and the broader history of Western popular culture in America. Pagosa Springs' location in Colorado's scenic southwest, near the New Mexico border and the San Juan Mountains, gives this intimate museum a setting that perfectly evokes the landscape Harman spent his life depicting.
