American Museum of Western Art
Downtown Denver · Denver, Colorado
The American Museum of Western Art — The Anschutz Collection — brings one of the finest private collections of Western American art in the world to public view in downtown Denver. Spanning more than 600 works by Frederic Remington, Charles Russell, Thomas Moran, Albert Bierstadt, and a century of successors, the collection documents the full visual history of art made about the American West. Housed in the historic Navarre building — a Denver landmark — the museum presents these works with the seriousness and scholarly apparatus of a major institution, offering visitors an unparalleled encounter with the mythology and reality of the West as painters have seen it.
